Locus fix: before / after
Experimental, not yet adopted. The original
suli model's Acute
locus (2500–2700Hz) overlaps the High vowel (2600Hz), and Grave (1200–1900Hz)
overlaps the Low vowel (1750Hz) — so some consonants barely move in pitch at all next to
certain vowels. si (Acute+High) in the original is completely flat: zero
pitch movement, same as a Mid-locus consonant. This page compares the original against
suli-wide, an experimental variant that widens Acute and Grave to clear the vowel
range, following the same principle Annie Rialland measured in real Silbo Gomero (loci
“frame” the vowel space from outside it). Cells flagged FLAT
have no pitch movement at all in the original.
